Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a specialist. Through therapy, a patient can learn about his or her moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. It can help a patient to develop healthy coping skills in order to improve his or her quality of life. There are many specific types of psychotherapy, each with its own approach. The type of psychotherapy that’s right for you depends on your individual situation.
