Terri Schmitt-Donners, M.A.

(Counseling Psychology, 1981 Bradley University), LCPC ( Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) is a lifelong Chicago area resident with over thirty hers of experience as a counselor working in both inpatient and an outpatient settings.  From 1982 Through 1985 she worked as a Team Leader / Manager of an Adult Psychiatric Unit at Forest Hospital in Des Plaines, and from November, 1985 through 1988 as a Supervisor / manager at Children’s Memorial Hospital in the Inpatient Residential program.  Since 1989 she has been in private practice in Beverly / Morgan Park and an Adjunct Faculty member at Moraine Valley Community College teaching Phychology.  Her clients include both children dan adults struggling with such issues as ADHD, depression, trauma, anxiety, adjustment issues and mental illness.  In addition she has extensive experience as a group facilitator having worked for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office of Victim-Witness, Mother Against Drunk Driving, Moraine Valley Community Colleges’ Substance Abuse Prevention Program and returning Veteran’s Program.  She is both a counselor and an educator who throughout her career has based the care she provides on the philosophy that the whole person is of the highest value and the success of the therapist is measured by the success of their clients.
